Sheru Classic 2016- an overview
Bodybuilding is truly an international affair, and this year I was able to gather up a bunch of real cool infos about what to expect at Sheru Classic, Asia’s largest health & fitness festival this year.
A bit of history
In 2006 Sheru Angrish, India’s second professional bodybuilder, founded Sheru classic productions, and in 2011 launched the first Sheru Classic pro bodybuilding competition and the first IFBB Professional Bodybuilding and Figure show in Asia took place in September 2011 in Mumbai.
In a country of over 1.3 billion people, that only has 3 IFBB pro cards, Sheru has been considered a visionary in his approach of health and fitness and was awarded with the highest civilian award by Government of India, the India achievement award in 2014. He was also nominated for young entrepreneur award ‘Rajiv Gandhi Excellence’ award in 2014 for introducing new ideas in health and fitness industry and for his work towards helping kids with special needs.
What to expect this year at the Sheru Classic
The event this year will run from the 14th til the 16th October, at the Bombay exhibition center, in mumbay. Many international athletes and key players will be present as guest posers; among them will be Kai Greene, Roelly Winklaar, Varinder Ghumn Big Rami and Sushil Kumar.
On the pro competitors side, this year will have IFBB Men’s Physique Pro & Women’s Bikini competitions.
There will be amateur competitions for both male and female athletes:
- Male & Female model search
- Amateur strongman championship, held for the first time this year
- India’s strongest arm
- Battle of fitness
Among the guests, the founder of Team Bombshell, Bev Johnson, will be present. She will promote fitness among the female athletes. Bev and her team will be conducting Seminars, Live posing classes, Live workouts at Super Gym and more. After being a successful competitor, Bev has been known for years for bringing to the Olympia many of the winners and finalists.
Over 25 000 visitors are expected at this event. Here is the list of the companies that will be present with their products and services.
